Passionate followers of the pop star are calling for that a man who leaped a barricade and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A viral clip shows the Australian man pushing past photographers and charging at Grande while the cast walked down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the gathering by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is not clear if he was formally accused.

History of Event Invasions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a performance. His Instagram profile includes recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney show in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last winter.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is clearly a punishable act," wrote an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" one Instagram user questioned.

Fans Voice Worry Over Ariana's Well-being

Several fans accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her May 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented a further response on Instagram.

Some supporters also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others demanded social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande looked surprised when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the situation, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore attendees had lined up to meet the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had assembled in a mass of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it began.

The motion picture, to be launched on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part adaptation of the well-known stage show Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely friendship between two distinct sorceresses.

The musical itself is a derivative of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of last year in the UK, and received 10 award recognitions, winning a pair for best costume and production design.
