A minimum of 16 lives perished and in excess of 40 were wounded when attackers fired on a Hanukah event at Bondi Beach, an attack local police have labeled a terrorist attack.
As of the newest reports, authorities have stated the number of fatalities stands at 16, encompassing one of the suspected gunmen. Additionally, 42 wounded individuals were taken to medical facilities.
The victims are still awaiting formally identified, but police believe their ages range from 10 and 87 years old.

Originally from London clergyman Eli Schlanger, 41, was the first victim to be named.
Described as a father of five children, he worked as the associate rabbi at Chabad of Bondi. Family members and acquaintances remembered him as “vivacious, energetic, full of life and a very kind and sociable person who loved to help people”.
“How is it possible that a joyful rabbi who went to a beach to share joy and positivity, to make the world a better place, lose his life in this way?” a family member said.
Schlanger and his wife celebrated the birth of their newest son just a few months ago.
Alexander Kleytman also lost his life, as stated by his wife.
She described the moments leading up to the shooting, stating they were standing when the gunfire began. “He shielded me because he wanted to stay near me,” she recalled.
The pair were both survivors of the Holocaust, having faced unspeakable terror in their childhood. They had later moved to Australia from Eastern Europe.
French authorities have announced that French national Dan Elkayam is a casualty.
In a statement, a senior official expressed that France mourned with his family, the Jewish community, and the Australian people.
“This cowardly attack is a fresh and tragic example of a disgusting rise of antisemitic hatred that we must put a stop to,” the statement continued.
A young girl, aged 10 who was taken to the a children's hospital succumbed to her injuries, authorities stated.
A national of Israel was among those killed during the attack, according to multiple sources referencing the Israeli foreign ministry.
From the 42 people taken to hospitals, a significant number are still receiving treatment, with several in a critical state. Those hurt include two police officers who attended the scene.
A casualty is a bystander who attempted to intervene to confront one of the attackers. Called a hero, he sustained bullet wounds but is in stable condition in hospital.
Among the injured is Arsen Ostrovsky, a public affairs professional. Sources state he was injured and is receiving treatment in hospital.
In a message, he recounted the incident as an “utter carnage,” but also praised the response of those who rushed to help. He said he believed it was a “miracle” he was alive.
Evan Zlatkis, a community director, was also injured in the shooting. He said he heard “a large number” of shots.
“I thought it was something less lethal, but it’s gone into my own skin and into my leg,” he explained. “I sustained a gunshot wound. I received first aid. I’m ok.”
