The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

The tragic news was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The influential video game developer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a highway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.

"This represents a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his work," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
